HALIFAX, N.S. — In between seasons of The White Lotus, there is always lots of buzz about what exotic locale a group of unlucky tourists will visit next. And now, before the third season of the hit show has come to an end, its creator Mike White gave the Mackerel an exclusive sneak peek at the setting of the next season; Halifax’s very own Howe Hall.
White told the Mackerel that the fourth season was on the receiving end of some major budget cuts, but he assures fans of the show that the difference will be unnoticeable, and that the star studded cast will be stronger than ever.
The cast reveal goes as follows.
RuPaul
RuPaul will play Ru Tabaga, the manager of the White Lotus’ university housing branch. RuPaul plays a homophobic character trying to crack down on an underground ring of drag shows that is being held at his White Lotus location.
Mason Ramsey
Ramsey joins the cast as Yo Delkid, a transfer student from the agricultural campus. He is staying at the White Lotus because he would like a chance to showcase his singing abilities in the underground drag shows to clean up his reputation after being cancelled online for his political beliefs.
Noah Beck
Noah Beck plays Justin Hall, a commerce student repeating his first year for the third time. His father is a big time investment banker on Bay Street, and he wants to be just like his daddy someday. Hall struggles with his peers who are not as well off as he is because he does not understand the exchange rate of “daddy’s money” between families. His life is perfectly set up for him through no work of his own, and he will flex that as his greatest achievement. Oh, and he also checks off just about everything on the bigotry bingo card.
Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega’s character is Ezarae Raven, a King’s student studying poetry. She can often be seen skulking around the White Lotus reeking of cigarette smoke and old library books. She is a very outspoken activist with connections to the Halifax drag scene, though she is less outspoken on her views to her boyfriend, Noah Beck’s Justin Hall.
Jojo Siwa
Jojo Siwa will be playing herself.
Pedro Pascal
After being fired from The Bicycle Thief for his anger issues, Pascal’s Joel MacLeod accepts a position as head chef in the White Lotus kitchen. MacLeod is pocketing money from the food budget to feed his own gambling addiction, and spending the remaining budget on cheap meats found on the black market.
The fourth season is rumoured to open with the Dal Tiger being found dead following a deadly fall from Citadel Hill, and the season will develop to unravel the identity of who is wearing the costume.
