HALIFAX, N.S. — In today’s day and age, it’s hard to know when someone wants you for real or if they are all talk. We at the Mackerel are here to help you avoid getting love bombed by telling you five telltale signs of a love-bomber.

  1. They want to know everything about you early in the relationship

Asking for your last name on a first date – who are they? A cop? Stay away from nosy love-bombers who ask things like “How many siblings do you have?” “What program are you in?” or “Do you like my hair?” Questions like this give too much away and leave you vulnerable to identity theft.

  1. They seek validation

Clingy, insecure nerds love to ask things like “Do you like the dinner I cooked you?” or “Want to hang out?” It’s like, why do you need my validation for that? Hang out with yourself, freak.

  1. They get jealous easily

There’s nothing worse than a jealous partner. Like, yes I am going to spend the night at my ex’s house, it’s not a big deal. They shouldn’t be so insecure about that.

  1. They are too clingy

Needing to follow you on social media, or have your number, or see you more than once a month, it’s all too much. You may even need a restraining order.

  1. They say they love you

Don’t trust anyone. He just wants to trick you.
