Like many, Dalhousie Master’s of Science student Elijah Stratton is struggling to adjust to the world of online learning. Stratton is finding it especially tough managing his role as teaching assistant in the BIOL 1010 lab component: “Hitting on first year’s in the lab is so easy. I’ll ask about their degree, maybe I’ll give them a few answers to the lab questions.” He went on to say: “What the hell am I supposed to do during a Zoom lab? Nobody has their camera on—it’s a total shot in the dark. And even if they did, then what? Everyone else can hear me. One time I made a private breakout room with this one girl, but she reported me and I had to attend a webinar on professionalism.”
