HALIFAX, NS— Cuffing season has come and gone, and many students have been left with nothing but a large roster of flings. Many students have turned to DalOnline’s registration options to help manage their busy dating lives during this time.
Students have reportedly been hacking the site to give themselves course codes and descriptions, so other students may use their ‘course code’ to register for dates with them. The new function is called DalOnlineDating.
“DalOnlineDating is like the perfect dating app,” said Connor O’Connell, a student at Dalhousie. “I can view my schedule week by week, showing who I’ve got dates with and when. It’s great.”
“Although sometimes it sucks, I saw my dream guy on DalOnlineDating and when I tried to get a date with him, I got waitlisted. It was humiliating.” O’Connell continued.
O’Connell is not the only student who has had mixed results with DalOnlineDating. Charity Wilkins, a third-year student at Dal, also faced her share of struggles.
“It was just a lot,” Wilkins said, “My schedule was full of these loser guys. I like to have a roster going on but those guys were flops, I had no choice but to use the ‘Action: Drop’ feature.”
“The drop feature allows me to cancel on everyone I’ve signed up for without actually having to say anything. Luckily I hadn’t been seeing those guys for very long, so I got to drop them without a W on my dating history. If I’d been seeing them for a couple of weeks longer, my dating history on DalOnlineDating would be marked with a ‘W,’ basically saying I ghosted them too long into the situationship, and I owed them an explanation.”
Tinder downloads in Halifax are at an all-time low, and DalOnlineDating will likely bring hundreds of students a new partner in future cuffing seasons.
